If we emailed you
We found your work email address in the contact information for local governments that the Illinois Comptroller publishes, which each unit reports in its own filings. We used it, and your unit's lines on the Comptroller's public late list, to write to you about your unit's annual financial reports. We do not buy email lists.
Reply "stop" to any email from us and we will not email you again. We keep a note of your address on a do-not-contact list so it stays that way.
What we hold
- Your name, role, email address and anything else in your messages or signature.
- Your unit's name and code, and public information about it from the Comptroller.
- If you hire us: the records you send, such as bank statements, treasurer's reports and budgets, and the reports we prepare from them.
This site has no forms, no cookies, no scripts and no tracking or analytics. Its fonts are served from this site, so your browser does not contact anyone else. Our web host may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Why we hold it
- To answer you and send your free statement.
- To quote, prepare and deliver the work you ask for, including any optional second check you choose.
- To invoice and keep the business records the law requires.
We do not sell what you send us and we do not share it for anyone's marketing. We share it only with the people working on your request, or when the law requires it.
Where it is kept
In our business email and file storage. Those providers may store data in Canada, the United States or other countries.
How long we keep it
- Emails and free statements: up to 24 months, then deleted, unless your unit becomes a client.
- Client records, reports and invoices: as long as Canadian tax and business record rules require, generally six years.
- Your unit's own records: returned or deleted when the job is done, if you ask.
- Do-not-contact entries: kept so we never write to you again.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@localreportdesk.com and we will reply in writing.

If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top of this page.
